EXCALIBUR (John Boorman, 1981) - 1.5/5

This overbearingly lavish amalgamation of many King Arthur myths is grossly dated and poorly acted. Excalibur is a bildungsroman following Arthur’s birth, to his kingship after the famous Sword in the Stone incident, and finally to his death at the hands of his son, Mordred, born from incestuous trickery. At times laughable, but at most incredibly boring. Not even the Wagner soundtrack could save it.
